One of the Oldest Existing Birchbark Canoes Found

Scientists are currently working on an incredible find, what could turn out to be the oldest existing birchbark canoe.

It was allegedly brought to Cornall, England by Lt. John Enys after fighting in the American War of Independence in 1776, and has been in the family estate for the past 250 years.

Next September, the canoe will be returned to Canada to be studied by scientists at the Canadian Canoe Museum to possibly determine the particular tribe which produced it.
